Run-Flat Tires Do Not Always Perform Properly

We recently had a harrowing and expensive experience with run-flat tires. Ironically we were on the way to replace one of our tires and got lost. By the time we got home, that tire was shredded, and the metal part of the wheel was totally wrecked. Worse, the car (a Mini Cooper) was wrecked and had to be replaced.
